PlexiDor is a high-quality 'self-framing' (0"-1 ³/₄")  pet door with unique, 'saloon-door' flaps (except for the small size which has a single flap),  steel locking cover (except for the small size)  and a separate keyed lock (included on all sizes, two on the XLarge size).  Available in satin (aluminum color, white, bronze (very dark brown) and 6 new designer colors.

The small, medium and large flaps have a ¹/₈" hollow air space which significantly improves insulation.  Consequently, this popular pet door performs among the best for single flap design. The XLarge flap has been significantly upgraded to include the new 'bite guard' technology--a significant enhancement. It is now a full ¹/₄" thick solid Plexiglas flap with metal edging to resist chewing. Note that the basic version is identical to the "XLarge Basic" listed in the kennels section.

'Basic' Plexidor pet doors include the full flap assembly, weather-stripping and lock. But they do not include the steel locking cover or the backside trim items. If you don't need these, save some money! One example might be a kennel situation. Another might be a storm door where the regular door will be used to lock the pet in or out.

The XLarge version comes with "Bite Guard" technology and is very resistant to chewing. If you've got a chewer and need the large size, you should consider the 'bite guard' version of the large. Note that flap design for the "bite guard" large is quite different, however, as it is a single flap and swings from the top rather than the saloon version traditional with Plexidor.
