- Dual pane "Low E" glass for better
insulation
- New 'Ultra
Flex' flap which is semi-flexible to be safe and still insulates
and seals even in cold weather. Made of Lexan, it is
'chew-proof'. As an alternative, you may choose the Hefty
Kat version which includes the 4-way locking Hefty Kat cat flap
in the VIP panel framing. The Hefty Kat flap is, however, rigid
and less safe than the medium size.
- A locking mechanism that utilizes your
existing lock! (This has never been done before)
- Vinyl framing that insulates better
than conventional metal framing.
- The VIP door installs
'semi-permanently'. However, the latches for fastening it in
place are hidden inside the jamb. No visible screws and no
drilling holes in any visible location.
- Framing of the VIP fits 11/2"
to 13/4"
thick tracks. It will straddle rails up to a maximum thickness
of 3/4".
- Available in an "off-white" only.
Bottom line: If you have a vinyl
framed sliding glass door, if the sizes and rise options suit your
pet and if you don't mind a minor installation job then this one
will look more like it 'belongs' than any other panel pet door.
One caution: Ideal specifies 'fits
most vinyl sliding glass doors'. We think you should
carefully review the excellent installation instructions below to
ensure that yours is among those that will work. Particularly check
your lock against the choices offered. There
